    Hi there,

I have a zanussi ZX79/5SI, approx 6 years old. all is working fine, fridge nice and cool, and freezer keeping everything frozen.

The problem is the warning beep has started coming on, even though none of the warning lights do. This started on Saturday, and the beeping happens from anything between 15 second intervals to minute intervals. For most of the day it was just the beeping, then in the afternoon, the fridge would actually switch off when I opened the door, and then switch back on just as I shut the door??????

But otherwise, as I say, everything else seems to be working correctly.

Had a Zanussi engineer out this morning, and he said he can’t seem to find any problems with the fridge (apparently it didn’t beep while he was there), and the beeping has largely subsided, but is still occurring randomly.

Any ideas what it might be? Maybe just a random fault on the electric “mother” board, that is causing the alarm to go off, but has everything else functioning properly? Any help or ideas much appreciated.

    Thanks

Sounds like a PCB fault to me but I’d stick a thermometer in the freezer just to be on the safe side and, when it happens again, monitor the temperature.
