ParticipantHi,
I have a Tecnik TKD 795/2 (se6tie1gb) and after a wash cycle water remains at the bottom of the washer.
I can blow through the waste pipe without any difficulty so I assume it isnt because of a blocked waste pipe.
Is it the pump or a sensor. Any advice please?
Thanks,
Fab

If you press the two reset buttons on the control panel , can you hear the pump fire up ? If you only get a faint hum then the chances are that somethings jamming the impellor of the pump . ( glass shard/crockery fragment – it doesn’t take much )
The pump impellor can be accessed by removing the white cover on the left hand side in the bottom sump – remove the water (using a small beaker/towles ) and all the filters to access this area – You will need a torx 20 drive to remove the screw holding the cover on. Then its just a case of checking round the impellor –
If you do find an obstruction , remove it and make sure you put the cover back in place before testing.
Remember to turn power off before investigating.
p.s If you have the instruction manual , there is a small section in there showing how to get to the pump impellorSeptember 8, 2007 at 11:21 am #227003gegsy

Hi
When you say water left at the bottom, do you mean its visible if you remove the filters? If so thats correct 🙂
If its above the filters in the tank then I would be looking at a drain pump problem.
Access to this is gained by removing the filters and identiying the plastic cover above pump impeller fixed by a Torx 20 screw;then remove said cover and see if anything is jamming the now visible pump impeller.Greg
PS – this is a Siemens made appliance 😀

Hi,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
The water is above all the filters. About 3/4″ of water sitting on the base.
Ive removed all the filter covers and also removed the small cover (the one thats screwed in) that reveals a cog like wheel. There doesnt seem to be anything abstructing the wheel , I can turn the wheel by hand fairly easily.
Ive also tried several cycles with nothing in the dishwasher to see if the drainage problem sorts itself out with a few rinses (which it doesnt).

When you turn the impeller, it should “twang” every quarter turn. Also, it will not pump out with that cover off 😉

Ok, i removed the cover of the impeller (hey im learning the technical terms!!!) and yes it does sort of “twang”, wanting to return to set positions.
I turned the unit on without the cover and heard a happy swishing sound. I then put the cover back on and this time it hums. So I removed the cover again and still it hummed. So I moved it about with my fingers and this time it swished. Put the cover yet back on (without a screw) and it swished. Screwed it in and it swished. I put some water in the unit and it got drained.
So now Ive put all the filters back in and trying a cycle and see what happens.
Indication I guess is it might be impeller related.
Again, thanks for the amazingly quick feedback. If there some other test I ought to run let me know, i’ll stop the cycle.

Hi
It maybe be some debris occasionally jamming the impeller, but more than likely its the pump itself tiring. If required, pump is available from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk p/no 423048
Power off if you are to attempt yourself 😉

Yes thats my trend of though. Like maybe the pump cant fire up in certain positions.
Ive got the unit completely pulled out but I cant say its obvious how the thing should be disassembled.
By the way , do you know how much a pump costs?

ParticipantThanks for the link. Didnt notice the Tecnik part number in that list, but I assume its ok?
Out of interest what is the relationship between Siemens/Tecnik and Bosch. My Tecnik fan oven packed up not too long ago and again it was a Bosch motor I used to replace it.
Anyone got any ideas how to fit this motor. Access from the bottom looks difficult, there is a big white bit underneath that not obvious how to remove. It looks like the white housing where the filter and aggetitor are located possibly could drop down, not up, making the whole white undercover removal problem a big issue.

Hi
Some Tecnik are BSH Group some are Anglo Iberian and are totally unrelated 😕
Noticed your Tecnik or the Siemens weren’t on that list, but it will fit yours, trust me 8)Greg

Participantok, 🙂 , again thanks for the help.
ps the machine drained ok after its cycle.
ive fed lots of water via bucket and cant seem to get it to go wrong now.
it will be like my oven. I dismantled it and it worked for a week and then jammed again.
if the dishwasher jams again, i will either replace the motor (if i can work out how. if cant work out how, the labour will probably such that i will buy a new machine).
