Participantbosch dishwasher ,model number is SGS45EO8GB/56.its goes through the cycle and sticks around 36 mins and wont empty, ive searched all over google and even bosch;s home page does not list this model, its only 3 years old.
has the pump gone ? ive took it apart ( filters inside ) and its all nice and clean, the impeller moves freely,is there another pump or another thing to check.September 10, 2007 at 8:36 pm #227168Penguin45

It’s an SGS45E08GB/56……
Does the drain pump run if you leave the cover off? If yes, check that the rubber flap is free to move in the pump chamber. Check condition of sink coupling (if appropriate). Check routing of drain hose for kinks and traps. If all clear, there maybe something in the matrix on the left hand side of the machine.
If the pump does not run, it may well be worn or failed.
Power off if you have to remove any panel.

ive taken it outside to strip it down, there are 4 plastic pins holding the sides on,( instead of screws ) if i break these to get the sides off, then i cant get it to fit back on,also the bottom is an all moulded single piece, and i cant even find any screws which hold the top in place, any ideas of how i can dismantle it ?to me the pump houseing seems to be fitted from the bottom of the machine which i cant seem to get at,removing the front bottom cover is no use either ,im met with a single piece of plastic which is part of the bottom piece.
what does the matrix do ? it sounds like the pump is running, but nothing comes out of the waste pipe.ive taken a plastic cover of the impeller houseing inside the machine, this can be turned by hand,so it doesnt seem to be blocked.September 10, 2007 at 11:31 pm #227170Penguin45

Errr – that wasn’t what I asked you to check……….? The side panels are retained by two screws on each side at the front – the plastic pips are purely for locaton at the back. You have to remove the lid first.
So, does the drain pump run at all?

I’ve got the same model and it’s just started sticking at 36 mins too !! although the drain pump on mine is working.
The timer stops at 36 mins and the drain pump just runs constantly. If I reset and restart the program it works OK filling and draining until it gets to 36 mins again.
Any ideas appreciated..

no idea of how to take the lid off,and there are no screws on the front panels,so i took it outside, removed the filters and put a hosepipe into the filter basin, blasted water into the hole, turned it on its side and did it all over again, put it all back togeather and hey presto,it works.and no,nothing came out of the waste pipe except dirty water, could it be the float,i dont know, but it now works so im happy.

You put the appliance on its side and blasted it full of water ?
Not a good idea TBH as you risk water getting into the electronics , both in the top of the door and in the base . Sounds like you’ve been lucky this timeSeptember 11, 2007 at 10:30 pm #227174SHAKEAPAW

i put the nozzel of the hose into the filter area and then “blasted” the water through,i also think being a dishwasher, its pretty waterproof when “blasted” with water from the inside.

It’s the turning it on it’s side that may do the damage, as much as the “blasting”.
Definately not recommended.September 13, 2007 at 12:53 am #227176SHAKEAPAW

i think you are being far too cautious, why not put it on its side ?,there are no moving parts except the pump, also,i had nothing to lose,it didnt work,so i was going to have to buy a new one ,anything is worth a try.

The water that is still inside the sump and hoses moves, lots of people have ruined dishwashers and washing machines by tilting them or lying them down on the wrong side allowing the water and other fluids to get into the electrics.
Blasting it with water is likely to compound this.
We are not being over cautious, we are giving you the benefit of hundreds of years of experience. 😉

Try telling that to a customer who transported a Siemens £500 dishwasher on its side only to have it disappear into a puff of smoke when they first tried to use it…..Bye bye one dishwasher or £300 worth of repairs .
We will always try and help people who come on here with questions but if you’re going to question our advice , why bother ?
