Indesit WD12 Washer Dryer doesn’t dry

I am having a problem with the dry cycle on my washer dryer.
For a while now it hasn’t dried as well as it used to and today the dry cycle is not working at all – it goes through the motions, or sounds like it does, but there is no heat. Recently it has done the dial click thing and come up with fault code 1 but worked again once reset – I had thought that it was overheating?
I’ve heard that with washer dryers its always the dryer that breaks it, is this the end of its life? It is 3 years old and gets used everyday.
