On comet i’ve seen a Miele laundry package for £979.99, saving of £100, but they’re the basic machines, so could we give these a try, or should we try bartering with an independent to get a good price for the more higher range models?

    Hi Adam,

    ISE 10 washing machine

    ISE 10 Dryer

Both carry 10 year warranties, hence ISE 10, backed by AXA. Both are superb machines with a 20 year + design life for domestic use.

If you add the cost of the 3 year extension to that package it’s knocking on the price of the ISE with only five years cover as opposed to ten years for only £300 extra and a far better spec of washer that takes almost half the time to do a 40C wash.

The ISE dryer is on a par with features, but again carries the 10 year warranty as standard but the ISE looks much easier to use in all honesty. In fact I can’t really think of a set of machines that are more simple to use than the 10’s.

It’s also worth noting we include the stacking kit with the dryer, not charge you an extra £40 or whatever for it as well as the draining kit.

I can also guarantee you that the ISE’s will be a LOT cheaper if they ever need a repair after the warranty expires, an awful lot cheaper.

What I can’t understand about that advert is how a Cabri-Deal condensing kit would help you get the best out of a condensing dryer. :rolls:

It’s typical large multiple Jim, they sell loads of stuff people don’t need. 😉

Wait a min, i think the question i meant to ask, was whether this itself sounds like a good buy, even though they’re the basic ones with only a 5kg microhole drum and 1300rpm spin, they still have the bombproof reliability and durability of a tank and are a lot better than the other cheap s**t available, so basically, do i need the machines with the gadgets and widgets, (the W3922 and the T8622 to be precise) or will these suffice?

Oh, I thought you were going to buy them.

    Better than most, yes.

    Reasonable deal, relative. 😉

Do you need a better spin, capacity etc., only you can decide that.

Im in a family of 4, second youngest, so theres quite a mass of washing, but most of it apart from sheets and towels go on the line, so probably a fast spin speed might be quite good. Maybes the other two i think.

I’d still say ISE, longer warranty by far and much cheaper spares and service if/when needed by a country mile.

Miele charge, last I asked, about a £90 callout then charge by the quarter hour, a typical module will cost you about £300 plus VAT, a drain pump about £120 plus VAT and a door seal about £35 plus VAT… not at all cheap although I appreciate they don’t fail that much due to the build quality they do fail.

Oh and your pretty much locked into using Miele service only on the new ones due to the requirement for specialist diagnostic equipment that is not available outside of Miele.

Miele W3824WPS should also have a 10 year guarantee according to the Miele website.

Re: Is this a good deal?

The more I look at the package, the more I’m sold on it. The 5kg and 1300rpm is what we have on our 16year old Hoover, and clothes come out of that particularly dry, and I don’t think anything over 6kg will be much point anyway, of what you guys have said. Does anyone have a Miele machine, what are they like to use, are they quiet?
And Miele are offering a free 5 year warranty (yes free!) on the lower end machines if bought before a certain time before November, and the dryer too, if they’re brought together, which these would be.

Hi , can’t say about Miele , but i am running Asko appliances (the manufacturer of ISE 10 range) and have workd on them for 20yrs . The usability and quality of these machines just cannot be overstated, and Ken is right about the spares and servicing , both are on a par with many of the so called budget makes with regards to costs.
