    Hi,

    I am wondering if I can get some help from the experts here.

    I have a Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 501. The machine operates just fine, but I need to shake the washing machine after pressing “START” or it will not run.

    Few weeks ago the machine starts leaking. And last week the leak becoming bigger and finally the washing machine takes the whole house electricity out while washing.

    Then I tried to turn on the machine again, and able to get the diagnostic code: 1101 0110 which read 214. I am not sure I have read to code correctly, so I take a photo:

    Can somebody translate the code and probably advice me of what should I do with this washing machine?

    I manage to run the washing machine again yesterday to complete the washing cycle and it runs just fine, with the leak of course.

    107 – Motor controller fault. If the machine is now functioning again, you’ve been very lucky……..

    The pump and the motor are both hanging under the drum, so they will be getting wet. Pump is common source of leaks. Shaft seal failure will also cause leaks.

    I can’t advise you to keep on using it until you sort the leak out.

    Shaking it to start? Possible lid switch/out of balance switch at fault. Both get wet and ‘sticky’ in operation as well as the wiring and connectors corroding. They are under the top deck.

    Yes, the machine is working again. But still leaking. I am thinking to check under the drum once I have the time and will post again here.
