    Hi guys

Read up on the the thermostat issues but I am not sure this is the problem as the dryer just takes a long time to run a cycle. It’ll beep to say its done but it’ll then need to go on again!

In checking the two stats I’ve knacked the green spotted one and I’ve also unscrewed the sensor head in the drum!

So, if you can possibly help I would love to know what to check and how to fix it for the slow drying

how to get the sensor head back on (its just turning and the thread isn’t biting) as I cant see how to get to the outside of the drum (do I need to?)

Only other point of note is that the casing at the back of the machine (can be seen through the aperture where the condensor slides in) has a lot of wet fluff stick to it….

    HELP 😕

    Okay

Worked out how the sensor head fixes on! Just need to find a new nut!

TIps on the actual problem though are still very much in need!!!!!

    One other query

I have reassembled it now and tried it just to see. The Drying light comes on and the motor runs but the active light is not on and the “empty water” light is on too.

Does this combination of lights happen just to indicate that the thermostat has gone or have I now screwed something else up? :rolls:

You have a rather difficult machine to work on, if the empty water light is on then the heater will not work. Common causes are gunged up float chamber, sticking float micro switch etc. To access requires complete removal of the drum and several other bits & pieces.

Do you clean out the condensor regularly?

Be sure to remove the mains plug if you intend to go further.

    Hi There

    thanks for replying 😀

It only began doing the “empty water” light thing after i took it apart today! It was fine before, except for the fact that clothes weren’t drying fully without running it again after the beep for cycle complete….

    Presumably I’ve disturbed something today?

Do you have any idea why it isn’t working very well? It wasn’t too clogged up inside and clother would dry eventually, it just needed to be on for three hours over two cycles!

    Well, do you?

A badly blocked condensor will affect the drying times, it would be very difficult to disturb the float switch without removing the sides of the machine and even then you would have great difficulty touching it. It could be that the float chamber is badly gunged up and just moving the machine around has tripped the float switch.

The exhaust stat can also cause poor drying if it starts to fail.

    Hi Again

Well, I did take the sides of the machone off to retrieve the nut from the sensor head that had fallen off! And took the opportunity to clean the fluff out.

Where is the float switch located?

I do clean the condensor regularly as it gunges up very quickly! My missus loves tumble drying everything…….. :rolls:

The float switch is on top of the float chamber, as I mentioned before,it is a drum out job to access.

If one side of the heating element has failed then that would also prolong drying times.
