Can anyone help me please? Underneath the bottom draw of my Bosch freezer compartment keeps forming thick blocks of ice. I have emptied the drawers and switched it off for 24 hours leaving the freezer door open. I have looked in the drain hole above in the fridge and nothing seems to be blocking it but I can’t solve the problem. I cant’t even get an engineer out to look at it. My appliance is 6 years old. Any advice would be welcome. I need help unrgently.

under neath your post there is a bit in blue writing that says

“click here to find a UKWhitegoods approved engineer in your area”

Click on this and you`ll get an engineer to look at it.

Without knowing the exact model , my feeling would be that the block of ice is being caused by a blocked drain hole in the freezer compartment. It works the same way as the drain hole in the fridge but is probably hidden behind the back panel in the freezer .

I would be tempted to try a longer defrost , at least 48hrs and then try the appliance again.

Correct, this is caused by a blocked pipe from the freezer. No defrost will cure this as it’s not a problem with ice. If the model is KGU—– pull the appliance forward and unplug it. You will see the compressor and on top it has a plastic tray, from this tray there will be a pipe running up into the bottom of the freezer. This pipe can be pulled off easily, once removed clean with hot soapy water and refit. Turn appliance off now for at least 6 hours to clear any residual ice in the freezer. Once turned back on you should find that this has cured it.
