    Hi my oven for Arisiston FV242 stopped working the other day. No fan no heat no nothing. The ignition for the gas hob is still working ok . Has anyone any ideas of what i can do . many thanks

    check that the clock if fitted is not on Auto

    hi i have an oven with th eold style clock not digital and dont think it affects the oven coming off or on. does anyone have any other ideas. many thanks

    if your clock is not digital, it can still affect cooking.

    If the clock is round it may have a small window at 9 or 3 oclock which will display a little hand (thats manual).

    Just checking first b4 going any further.

    has the oven got a supply to it ?

    hi its not got a hand at 3 or 9 oclock but had a thing at 12 and have turned the clock knob around and nothing is changing. it still has a supply . the clock doesnt work either but i still have electric going into the oven any other ideas

    the clock does affect the oven working. when did the clock stop working?
    does the clock have hour and minute hand and another smaller, possibly red or orange finger? do you have a knurled knob to adjust the real time and when you push it in can be used to set cooking time?

    hi yes it has an hour and min hand and has a knob you pull out to set the timer. how would i reset this if it is causing the oven not to work. thanks

    push the knob in ususally sets the oven to manual…to see if this works, turn the oven on any temp will do and push knob in…make sure the red /orange finger is on the hour hand…best of luck. 😉

    no that has done nothing there is no power to the clock oven grill fan. is there a fuse or something somewhere that might have blown its not the main fuse because the ignition the hobs still works fine. many thanks

    usually the gas hob igniter is fed from a separate mains supply so it works independantly of the oven. suggest you take out the fixing scews which hold the oven in place, pull it out and check to see if it the mains supply is hard wired or off a 13amp plug and socket. MAKE SURE THE OVEN IS ISOLATED FROM THE MAINS BEFORE DIVING IN.
