Went round to this guy today to put his belt on, said it was too tight for him, had it on in a couple of minutes, when I ran the machine on any program it went straight into full speed spin whilst taking water, let it run for a minute then the display came up with E31
the known error codes state motor drive problem, is it likley to be the motor or the board ? The customer informed me that he has just bought the machine out of the paper for £60.00 and was told it had had an overhaul and the board had been repaired recentley.

Has it got the FHP motor in it, as Seamy has mentioned the tacho magnets do come loose on these.

If it was a tacho problem, it would show E30 and abort the spin within a second or so.

My guess is a dodgy triac on the board. If it has been bodged by another repairer, I would leave well alone. You could be digging yourself a huge hole..
