    Dear all

I posted on 10 September 2007 about a Firenzi oven that was cutting out and tripping the fuse (see below).

Hi, This is my first time posting here, and I hope someone can help. We have had a Firenzi electric fan assisted oven Model: FSF650WH; Serial No. 522 11091 for two years. There is no cooling fan mentioned in the manual and I cannot see any. The oven has started to cut out intermittently, tripping the MCB in the consumer unit at the same time. The first time was after an hour into cooking, and the second time was after ten minutes into cooking. Any advice as to the cause and a possible solution would be great. Thanks!

I did receive some advice from Kwatt and was considering letting the experts take a look, but at the price quoted have been thinking about whether it would be better to replace the oven. In the meantime, I took off the back panel and this is what I saw:

Two round, long, white ceramic looking probes (disappearing into metal sleeves) in the back of the cooker either side of an earth connector. Lower probe which has a blue wire running from it is ok, but upper probe which has a grey wire running from it is burnt and has slightly scorched some of the wires around it, the metal back plate and some of the white insulation material. I assume this is the reason the cooker is cutting out, am I correct? How do I remove the burnt probe, and what replacement part number should I order? Also, what is the probe for?

    Thanks for your help.
