After fitting a Whirlpool 481253028094 hose to a dishwasher last Friday got a call last night from the customer telling me that the machine had flooded and ruined his laminate flooring. Fearing the worst I called back this morning and and was relieved to find that the hose I fitted had failed because the round disk which the thermostats clip in to had worked loose, So Rather than shoddy workmanship the part supplied by ASD services was at fault. The customer was very understanding and admitted that I was not at fault for the flood due to a new part failing after 3 washes. He wants to claim on his household insurance and I wrote him a quick report of the incident and told him I would type up a more detailed report if required. How would I stand if I receive a claim from the customers Insurer’s Can I pass it on to my suppliers ASD services, who presumably could pass it on to Whirlpool?
It won’t go to that I shouldn’t think Goose. The insurer will either pay it or not, probably just pay it and be done with it on the strength of the report as it’s not worth fighting about or pursuing further in terms of cost.
I’d only worry about it if they get shirty with you.
