ParticipantCan anyone help with this problem.
We have moved into a new house and it has this dishwasher integrated into the kitchen. It looks brand new and unused but when I try to run it on any program after a few minutes I get lights 1 and 3 flashing and 5 solid. It resets fine when turning it off for a short while.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check the supply tap is turned on 😉

It’s on and I get water going in but according to the manual 1 and 3 should be solid and 5 flashing for a water supply problem. If the manual is wrong could it be that the valve (tap) fitted before the inline filter is a bit small? I ask as although the connections are 3/4″ BSP the valve hole itself seems quite small in comparison, would it be worth trying a larger valve with the 3/4″ connections?

No don’t worry about the valve…thats the factory fitted one that it designed to operate in your dishwasher.
Try a reset procedure for the pcb…search on here with the model number or ‘smeg’ and reset and try that.
Incidentally, you say it gets some water in, does it start to spray it around?

Tried the reset a few times and still get the same thing happening. Yes the water does spray but nothing heats up 🙁 Any other ideas, I appreciate the help here, if only to keep the wife happy 😉

Erroneous fault codes can and do appear on these, unfortunately the only way forward is to carefully meter all the usual suspects in the appliance, then probably replacing the pcb anyway 😕

Well the usual suspects include things like heating elements, wash pumps, dispenser solenoids etc
Just had a thought…IIRC there is a setting for low water pressure/fill rate which can be set by pressing buttons…my tech disc is in the office and not on this pc so i can’t be sure. If you have the book of destructions have a look in there, or failing that penguin45 might have an answer…just give him a little preening or offer a fish 😉 😀
As to charges these vary nationally so try the link below for a UKW approved engineer (signed up to the charter), or ask locally for recommendations 😉

Thanks for that 🙂 I’ve dropped him a PM but if you could also check your info that would be great. I spoke to MFI who installed the dishwasher prior to me moving into the house and they charge 70-90 call out + parts and VAT! I will be just as cheap to get a new dishwasher I guess if I have to go down this route 🙁
