ParticipantFollowing the last UKW meeting in Sibson it was agreed and ratified by all present that we should proceed with the formation and launch of the “Whitegoods Trade Association”.
This has now been done and has gone “live” this evening. Our purpose will be to:“Support the Independent Service Industry” in whatever way we can.
Just as a taster I can tell you some of the issues to be addressed:
· Lack of Technical information
· Spares pricing
· Training issues (Including CORGI)
· The development of an accountable identity card scheme for WTA members.
· These are to name just a fewThis will be a stand-alone organisation alongside UK Whitegoods and will use some of the UKW resources that are placed at its disposal. And will be operated by its members for the mutual benefit of its members.
So what does this mean in real terms? Well you are already a subscriber so you have automatically become a member of the WTA.
The minutes of the inaugural mtg are available for anyone to read.
A team of us have agreed to stand as a steering committee for two years, this doesn’t mean that we will be doing everything ourselves, our aim is to use the valuable resources readily available to us, one of which is YOU. If you have a particular expertise that you feel would be of use for example – legal knowledge, experience of dealing with particular aspects of the industry – then please let us know.
I think the best way to proceed is to welcome all on board and invite questions and comments & suggestions from you the members. .Regards
