Went to check out my Daughter’s Hotpoint F/F today to make sure it was ok after the floods and was surprised to find that there is no earth connection needed on the appliance.
    How can this be right?
    Can someone enlighten me please.

How does one “double insulate” an entire fridge? Sounds lethal to me…….

Been back for another look and it seems she bought it “as seen display model”.
My guess is that the mains lead got damaged and some muppet fitted the first one he found.
Anyway this muppet has now fitted a proper mains lead and will be taking the old one back to the shop with a few words of wisdom to impart to the management. 😳

    who the hell allowed that?

id be ringing the hse and trading standards.. its such bad practices that lead to people being killed

and especially a hotpoint…. not to mention the fact that you went to this, left it, and went back.. what would have happened if the consumer had been killed in that gap between the first and second visit?

    yep thats right, YOUR fault

good job it was only a day

OI WIND YER BLEEDING NECK IN!

    Read my post again.
It was my daughter’s fridge and it wasn’t even plugged in She’s been flooded out.
And as for what would have happened if anyone had been killed I’m afraid the HSE would be the least of my worries.
    Nuff said.
Going on holiday now for a week to try to regain my sanity. 8)
