    Drier only turns in 1 direction and then stops when it should be reversed.After a few minuites it starts again when the direction changes,is this a timer fault or a relay,

    Sounds like the timer or the wiring from the timer to capacitor jj

    Once the relay has engaged it is basically not involved in the reversing circuitry. I would go for the timer.

    For the benefit of rolf & trotter and the OP, I should point out that forum member johnnyj was until very recently a Hotpoint/ Indesit Company engineer, possibly now franchised and helo-75 is currently a Comet engineer with access to most of the Indesit Company tech info etc. 😉
