Can anyone tell me if suppliers like d.a.d have to take old appliances away as they supply us and if not y not. Obviouliousy(sorry 4 the spelling) we have to take them and this is a bit unfair. Also ive asked the local trafford council and the they dont even know about weee but where can i find a local place to take old appliances?.
Seems still a lot of work needs to go into this.

Moved to General Trade, not really a Related Trade question. 😉

If you type WEEE into the search facility towards the top of this page you will find plenty of material for you to read and digest.

No they don’t as they are selling business-to-business, not business-to-consumer so it is not their responsibility as they haven’t the opportunity to get the old appliance.

No distributors are liable under WEEE AFAIK unless they have their own brand in which case they have a producer responsibility or they sell direct to the public.

It is a retailer and producer responsibility only so far as I am aware.

If you speak to John Hopwood he may be able to point you to a local AFC that can take the waste as we did that through ISE.
