KeymasterThought I’d start a thread about articles. 🙂
Jim can you check this one for my usual spelling errors etc. please? 😉
If anyone else has any points to add to this can they share please?
Any other articles that need written, spares etc.?

Found two :-
Costs will be explained upfront before the engineer calls with a good indication of what the repairer expects the costs to be and parts if it is possible. Please not that it isn’t possible to be entirely accurate here over the phone without seeing the appliance and properly assessing the failure, but most repairers will try to give you an idea of costs
Most repairers follow these points as a matter of course and will be as helpful as they can possibly be as they wish to resolve yoru issue, after all, that is how they make a living.

Only one thing…….
I don’t charge VAT (yet), but I don’t utilise “VAT free repairs” as an advertising ‘slogan’. Could this be misinterpreted and put people like me in the same box as the “free call out” brigade?
Even so, there must be scores of reputable traders in my position. Charging VAT shouldn’t be seen as the sign of reputation.Maybe I’m too sensitive…. 😕

Hi Steve,
I think Ken is on about the VAT registered Businesses who take the old “I’ll knock the VAT of for cash madam”, not non registered Businesses.
Adrian 🙂

KeymasterYeah, that’s exactly what I’m on about, the old discount for cash and knocking off the VAT is one trick.

No probs.
What do you all think of this as an intro to trade membership?
I was trying to split the paths into three clear areas, about the TA, for trade and for public so it’s easy to navigate. This one was just as an intro to the trade bit.

Finding an Engineer article checked, only found five spelling/typos, all corrected. 8)
The odd ‘i’ before ‘e’ etc.
Jim.
PS. Just checked that last one, only one recieved [sp] also sorted.
Article is very sound. 🙂

All good IMO. What about a ‘Join now’ button at the bottom of the page that would link them to the repair membership page?
