KeymasterGot an email through this morning about this and although I’ve not had time to look into it I thought I’d share…
Which? wrote:Which? Local is a new website to help you avoid the cowboys and find the best local services. We all listen to the recommendations of people we know to find the best tradesmen and retailers and this site gives you the chance to share your recommendations with other Which? members.
We’re pleased to announce it’s now available in your area.
It looks as if it’s to be a community driven site of some sort so I don’t know how successful it will be.

The trouble with these sort of sites is that if people have a gripe then they will post a review but very few will post if the service they get is good. So really I doubt you will get a recomendation but “cowboys” will get reviewed and may avoid people phoning them So you may get the work in the long run.
One other thing is that you will always get the customer who you can`t please and these are the ones that will rip you to shreds in an anonymous review. The people I am talking about is like the one I had last week who thought charging them £23.50 for diagnosing a fault on their machine and them deciding that they would be better buying a new one because of the price. I thought the man was going to burst a blood vessel.

I scanned through the which Local site today. My search criteria being domestic appliance repairs. You can opt for companies within a certain distance from your Postcode address (between 5 and 100 miles in fact). Within the 50 mile area search a few UKW members were listed as it happens. 😉
As the Which site is relatively new, most only had 2 or 3 recommendations at best. But all were pretty well spoken for I must say, so that can’t be bad. 🙂
I must get someone to recommend me so I can get listed up on there? 8) 💡

Yes Jim I took advantage of the 30 day free offer in order to view the site. I then (2 days later) cancelled my subscription (by phone) and now I can view the Which site until the end of November……cool!!! :rolls:
