Hello, I have an integrated slim White Westinghouse dishwasher about 4-5 years old (I think mod no is WT 146 E.1)

The trouble is, the cycle just doesn’t stop – at all. It happens on all the wash cycles (light/med/heavy) and the cycle carries on for hours unless I interupt it. It seems to get very hot during the never-ending cycle.
The only way I can clear it is if I put it on the “soak” cycle which seems to be the only one that works.

Any thoughts? I’m not completely inadequate when it comes to DIY and fixing things and keen to turn my hand if I can. Is it salvageable, do I need to get in a decent repair expert, or is it time to call it quits and buy a better model?

Thanks so much – these forums are my only hope of unbiased, decent advice!

Heater or stats most likely. Sounds as if it’s not hitting temp and just washing, hence it will go through the soak sequence as that only uses cold water.

It shouldn’t be too expensive to put right whether you do it yourself or get in an engineer to do it.

Hi there, would be interested to hear how this problem panned out as I have exactly the same problem with the same model!

Do you have any further info on how you fixed it, if at all, and any costs or other advice?

    Cheers
