ModeratorHi guy’s, long time no speak
We have had an enquiry today regarding the fact that although we have an arbirtration scheme over seeing the UKW Service Charter, there is no mention of it, within the Charter itself.
We are trying to get the Charter used by the WTA as well and one of the WTA councilors ran the Charter past an official at the OFT who pointed out this omission.
I think a simple additional statement tacked onto the end of the charter should suffice. Any voulenteers to write it.

How’s about:
“5. Membership.
e/ WTA members will be signed up to the Service Charter as a condition of membership.
The provisions of the Charter can be viewed here (insert link as appropriate.).”

Thanks Chris I was begining to think I’d been ‘Sent to Coventry’ 😆
I think the thing that the ‘OFT’ are after here is for us to include within the Charter itself a passage or discription of the fact that there is an arbitation process in place to deal with disputes between customers and members. They would like to see that this is offered as an additional service and in no way affects the customers statutory rights bla bla bla.
C’mon Chris your good at the bla bla bla stuff !

Take two…………
“5. Membership.e/ WTA members will be signed up to the Service Charter as a condition of membership.
The Service Charter exists to maintain and regulate the standard of behaviour of the Members.
The Charter is overseen and maintained by the Advisory Council.
The Advisory Council will also provide arbitration between Members and Customers where disputes cannot be resolved through conventional means.
Any ruling by the Advisory Council will be held to be binding upon Members concerned.
Advisory Council rulings will not affect a Customers stautory rights.
The provisions of the Charter can be viewed here (insert link as appropriate.).”
Might be an idea to run the statutory rights bit past Jackal to make sure we get it right.

Yes I’m happy with what you have got there. No need to make anything over complicated.

KeymasterMight be worth mentioning that failure to abide by the ruling of the AC can lead to expulsion from the TA. 😉
