Hi hope someone can help. we have a drier which is producing a grating sound. Following advice posted on a similar problem i have confirmed that there is play in the rear bearing. My question is whether or not there are any bearing pads etc on the front door aperture on this model, and if so do i need to remove the drum via the rear panel to change them, or can both the rear bearing and any front bearing plastic pads (if fitted) be changed without removing the back panel and drum? thanks in advance. yes there are front pads, but they rarely go, to be fair

the rear bearing can be changed by taking of the small panel at the rear, remove the pin and it will come out

the front ones, yes the drum has to come out

It can also depend on which type of drum and front duct you have. Early models had a metal front duct and a felt bearing seal. This failed quite often and was replaced with a plastic drum front duct and old style bearing pads.

If you open the door, does the front filter drop into a metal duct/surround or into a grey plastic one.

If it is a metal one then the only real cure is a drum & duct kit. Possibly to expensive to contemplate.

If you give us the serial number we can tell which type you have.

    Jim.
