ParticipantMy Servis M3024 will not speed up on the spin cycle, it just rotates slowly throughout the whole cycle as if balancing the wash load. However it does the same if the washer is empty. I have also taken the belt off the drum to see if the motor would speed up during this cycle – but it doesnt, it just rotates at about 100rpm It makes no difference which spin speed i select, or which wash cycle. Just setting it on a spin cycle makes no difference. The machine does everything else except speed up on the spin cycle.
I am used to getting stuck in and repairing things and dont like to be beaten, — but this has really got me stumped and i now assume it must be something to do with the motor or circuit board.
I hope you can throw some light on this problem before i tear more hair out of my dwindling stocks.
Thanks in advance.November 1, 2007 at 9:19 pm #232786clivejameson

The control module for the motor is faulty 😕
Have a look here to identify it, or contact Shop@ with the model, serial and spin speed 😉

Thank you for your quick reply, i was in the right area and was dreading it to be the circuit board/control module. (expensive)
Could the drum belt coming off have caused this because what i can find out from my other half it happened just after this?
I was hoping there would be a reset button or something – dreaming helps sometimes. 🙂

You could try changing the drive belt – there is a known issue with these elactic belts stretching and “bouncing” under load – the pcb doesn’t like it and thinks that there is an out of balance problem. If it has come off once, stretching may be the problem.
By the same token, Clives advice is equally valid.

Thank you for your excellent help, the problem is now resolved but leaves me a little embarrassed. 😳
During sourcing a new Control Module/pcb as suggested (Part number 546028802 – 0230) I discovered it would not spin if it had no load in the drum. How it knows i have no idea, but putting a few more items in the drum cured the problem.
This also resolved the problem of the belt coming off in the first place. The motor mounting bolt had worn very loose destrying a rubber mounting bush (there is only 1 bolt holding this motor in) causing the motor to suffer massive vibration, and the rear retaining bar had bent leaving the motor shaft out of line with the pulley.
Just one question. Is this rear retaining bar supposed to be straight?
Again, Thank you for your help, It sent me in the direction to find the solution.

JimCan’t remember TBH….i’d suggest you mount the motor up nice and tight and see if the motor pulley is parallel to the drum pulley 😉
HTH?
