hello, The door lock/program activated red light on my wia 121 wont stop flashing. originally i turned off the appliance and unscrewed the filter and screwed it back in after checking for blockages. This appeared to work but after the next cycle finished the red light flashed as normal to indicate a finished cycle but turning the program dial to off and opening the door (both usually result in the red light going off) it continued to flash.
The machine still works and the red light doesn’t have a count pattern to it.. nothing but nothing will stop it.
Any ideas as to whats wrong.?Re: indesit wia 121 flashing light
thanks for the reply helo but just one question, as a complete novice. Whats an eprom ??
its a programmable chip that inserts onto a surface mounted chip holder on the pcb, which contains the software for your machine, the pcb tends to be the same in most machines, its the eprom that identifies it
every machine has a different one, unless hotpoint fit it, they fit a blank one and reprogramme it using their laptop… not an option for the independants, indesit wont supply the software

oh, and before u ask, no you cant take the eprom from your original board, its not the same, service parts are different to the original

If it is the dreaded eprom/pcb why is the machine still working ok ? sorry to ask so many questions

I work on these alot and can you tell it is the board that’s faulty.
You are right it will continue to work but it wont turn off the door led when the door unlocks.Re: indesit wia 121 flashing light
does this mean then that the machine will work fine . And that i dont have to go to the hassle of changing things if i can put up with a flahing led.?
