ParticipantHi all,
I have been trying all over the internet to find someone who can supply me with an armature for a Sanyo SCX100 Vacuum Cleaner because a segment has come off the present armature. Can’t find one anywhere, Oh I can get a complete motor for £97 (they must be joking) but I can get a brand new vac for less. Its a shame because I have kept it well serviced myself and the suction is brilliant even on dog hairs. That is why I want to iether find another armature or someone that repairs them before I have to bite the bullet and buy a new Vac. Bring back the old days when you could replace every part on any vac instead of having to replace half the vac modularly..
Any help will be greatly appreciated.November 3, 2007 at 8:15 pm #232912don

Hi Don,
Tried that Don but haven’t received a reply yet, I wonder if there is a way to re-atach the segment that has come off?November 6, 2007 at 8:24 am #232915Martin

Nope, Martin’s right. It’ll be a new armature at best (if it’s available, which I very much doubt) or a replacement motor.
These days it’s most unusual to have spares available for motors, many don’t even supply carbons now, full assembly only. It’s cheaper as you then don’t have to stock all the individual parts so the machines are cheaper.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice guys, looks like another new vac then as it would be stupid to pay £97.24 + vat+ postage for a motor when I could get a brand new vac for that money, anyway it was worth a try.
