My cooker blew the fan assisted heating element (circular) last week (spectacularly so, the element was in two parts when I investigated.)
I purchased a new element and fitted it, but the elemnt did not heat up when the oven was switched on. Initially I did not realize that the Manual button had to be pressed before anything would work, got over this, but still the element refused to get hot.
I noticed that the thermostat neon glowed slightly when the thermostat was at the minimum setting, but glowed brightly after the “click” as the knob was turned to increase the temperature. Still no heat from the element.
I the took the back of the oven and started chasing wires. Everything seemed ok except that I could not work out the circuit from the neutral connection to one side of the element to the live from the timer unit.
What I did find was that the non neutral connection to the element was sitting at about 115 volts with the fan oven switched on and the thermostat turned down, this would account for the low intensity of the neon indicator, but the voltage disappeared when the thermostat was turned up and the neon light went up to full brightness.

Is there anyone out there who may have experienced a similar fault, or has any ideas, or perhaps has a circuit diagram that I cold obtain a copy of. I am happy to pay.
My local repair man says he does not touch any appliance that the owner has worked on “becuase he does not know what the owner may have done!”

Incidentaly every other function of the cooker works ok.

    Please someone help me out

Re wiring diagrams, please read this.. http://tinyurl.com/2o2hjk

TBH, your local repair man is no fool 😉

If the element did go west in a big way it is not uncommon for that to take out the regulator and/or the master control unit.
