i have had my indesit wie157s looked at as it has died and been told it is beyond economic repair as it is a fault at the main pcb module unit caused by electrical surge. i am being told by the electricians who are working on my house that my house electrics could not have caused this surge, it would have been from the power company. can anyone tell me if this is correct as if it is down to the house electrics i can make a claim against them and get a new machine

If your machine is under 5 years old it is covered by a 5 year parts g/tee, as the E signifies it is an eveloution module with a 5 year parts g/tee, maybe worth getting indesit to have a look.

    Re: indesit wie157s power surge

the machine is 15 months old and as far as i can see it is only covered by a one year guarantee. I had a letter in july saying the machine was coming to the end of it’s one year guarantee and did i want to renew, i didn’t as my machines usually last about 4 years and thats good enough for me.
Also i have read what is NOT covered if it was still covered and it says ” any problem with the electricity supply”, which is what the repair man said was the cause of the machines failure.
i also found out yesterday that my house is not earthed at the moment.
HELP! i’m totally confused as to what to do, who’s fault is it, the machine or the main house electrics?
