ParticipantHi,
I’ve had a search around and tried some simple fault finding to no avail – any help much appreciated. Here’s the details.1) Indesit WA105 washing machine, bought about 4 years ago, not had any issues.
2) Just moved house and it’s plumbed into the new kitchen
3) Fails during rinse cycle (not sure if that’s significant)
4) The machine does the usual rotating dial and the light flashes 8 times.
5) I do a reset and then select rinse and try and continue from where it left off. – the pump appears to run continuously, some water leaves through the waste pipe and then it goes into error mode.
6) I’ve put the waste pipe into the sink to make sure there’s no blockage in the house plumbing.
7) The outlet at the front bottom right-hand side (the one you can unscrew to remove debris) contains about a litre of water. I’ve tried draining this and starting again but it makes no difference.Any help or advice much appreciated.
Cheers,
Simon

Your machine has a heating fault, either the heater has failed, the circuit board has or the connections between the two? 🙁

Using the ‘SEARCH’ facility, enter “Indest AND eight AND flashes” in exactly that format and search this forum, you will get plenty of reading, most of it you will not like.
If the machine has been moved then it may be loose contacts on the main PCB. Be sure to remove the mains plug if you intend to have a look.
Jim.Good morning Martin. 🙂

Thanks for the replies. I did look at the forums first and found that the 8 flashes means
“Heater relay cannot be activated”
– but I also heard that the error codes are unreliable for the indesit. Given that the rest of the cycle worked I thought it more likely to be a problem expelling water at this point, i.e. a problem with the pump. Isn’t the heater relay used at other points in the cycle?
Thanks again for the responses.
Cheers,
Simon

The electronic microprocessor ‘self checks’ each component on start-up irrespective of programme selection. Once it detects an error it closes down and displays the error. I would check that heating circuit if I were you. 😉
