    Hi all,

My machine has developed a speed control problem – thought I’d fixed it previously (suspected broken wire) but it’s back!

Is it possible to test where the fault may lie, i.e motor or PCB? There is no obvious damage to the PCB; the motor connections seem fine, however I performed a continuity test on what I understand to be the ‘tacho coil’ at the rear of the motor, and that appears to be open circuit.

Any advice on how to test further or possible solutions welcome!

(Machine symptoms: on any programme, machine spins up to high speed a couple of times for a second or two, then quits.)

    Cheers,
    Avi

    Thanks for the advice.

Is it really not possible to obtain a spare (new or second hand)? Seems a bit daft shelling out for a whole new motor when the tacho is only worth less than a tenner! Have also seen a few coils available for other makes, wondered if any were ‘fittable’ to this model?

I’ve just popped the tacho out the back of the motor – comes out fairly easily, with a bit of persuasion from a screwdriver. Hard to tell what’s wrong though, as most of it is sealed in plastic.

im sure someone will have a duff motor with a good tacho if you look around
