    I have a Whirlpool AFG7060 (8549 706 15002) upright freezer that suffered the same ‘chattering relay’ and fluctuating temperature problems as a number of other Whirlpool freezers on this forum. Having read the thread on the American style freezers, I changed the capacitors on the control PCB, and whilst that has fixed the chattering, it’s now a lot worse… it gets to the correct temperature after a couple of hours, and then promptly defrosts and stays there!

    Can anyone advise if this problem is likely to be still related to a faulty control PCB or something else (temperature sensor, for instance)?
    I don’t want to spend £110 on a new PCB only to find that’s not the problem.

    could be any number of reasons for that

    pcb is most likely, but you should really be checkin defrost sensors/ thermal fuses/heaters etc then you could be sure

    of course, you’ll know that if youve read all the other posts
