ParticipantHi All
Hope someone can help or put me in the right direction.
I have a Zanussi Washer-Dyer Model no: WJD 1667W that is having trouble with the dryer. It sort of ‘steams’ the washing rather than drying it. The washing gets quite hot and the drum is often too hot to touch. I don’t always get an error code but on occasions it has bleeped E10. According to manual fault diagnosis this assumes ‘The Water tap is not turned on.’ It is and everything appears fine. I am having no trouble with washing cycle.
I have read a previous thread relating to this problem from ‘kgaf back in July and have done as the thread suggested by unblocking the ‘condenser housing. It wasn’t mega blocked but cleaned it anyway. but alas to no avail.Any more suggestions please.
Thanks
Paul

You will need to replace the Water Inlet Valve. 😉

ParticipantCheers Martin.
What sort of price would i be looking at and how difficult a job is it to DIY? I did the Condenser job without too much trouble.

Not too tricky with the correct tools and application. You can always get a locally recommended engineer out by clicking on the link below. 😀

ParticipantQuick update on this thread.
Received part, fitted in about 20mins with no problems.
Tried drier and works a treat. Probably saved a packet. Thanks ever so much to Martin. A big help.Paul

Hi,
I’ve had this exact problem – I’ve ordered the part – is it easy to install – I have no idea when it comes to DIY!Does the part include instructions to fit it into this model?

Instructions………. ha!
Pull the plug, take the lid off, it’s pretty obvious.

Hi Phil
Hardest part of this job is getting at screws on the side of machine as they are actually inside the cover. You’ll need a socket set. I used a cordless screwdriver with a socket fitting. Once lid is off the inlet valve is at the top of machine and easily accessible. You’ll see it straight away. A pair of long nosed pliers did the trick for me as you have to remove several spring clips. Unplug the electrics attached making sure you fit them to your new inlet valve exactly as you take the old ones off (There are 3 lots i think) This bit is a bit fiddly. And thats about it. Not a DIY maniac myself but managed it quite easily. Took me about half an hour.

I’ve got the water inlet valve in but I can’t get the plastic end of the old one to attach to the new one
Is there some special trick to it?

ParticipantIf you mean the large white screw thread bit. It comes off on the outside of the machine from the cold water inlet pipe. A bit fiddly but it should come off with a bit of elbow grease. Hope this helps.

Participantmaybe its just me, but why are people advising about taking the rear panel off when its blatantly obvious when you take the lid off how the valve fits?
the plastic bit? unscrew it, your making it look hard

oh s**t
Your right i was thinking of the condenser job, for taking the sides off. Apologies my mistake. Yup just take the lid off and it’s right under ya nose. Long nose pliers for spring clips, and you’ll be done. -
