THANK YOU! I thought I’d let you know that in the end (having had to come right down from Miele to Bosch to others, as we’re very short of cash) I bought a Whirlpool AWM 8082. It was on offer with a free 8 year guarantee, and 100 euros cheaper than the cheapest Bosch available at the store I bought from (chosen for its after-sales service). Though it certainly wouldn’t be my first choice, I hope it won’t prove too bad a compromise: for a number of reasons, there’s little real choice here. I would appreciate any comments on this model, or Whirlpool in general.
I was a bit dismayed that it only has 800 rpm spin, but as I (deliberately) don’t own an iron, perhaps hanging the clothes up slightly more damp will improve our appearance! I suppose you can’t have everything. We got free delivery (1 hour’s drive away) too. Oh, & perhaps most importantly the MANUALS were available in English – not that common here in Greece.
Thanks for all your advice & help a while back. I’ll no doubt be back with more questions soon, but for now, is there anything I should do before doing the first ever wash? The instruction book doesn’t say anything. Should I run a rinse, or anything? Or just get on with it?
