My Smeg dishwasher DWF1.1 has packed in. It isn’t showing an error code. What it’s doing is when I press the button to start it, it just goes “MMMumph” – for about 1 second, as if it’s going to start. I’ve tried all the programmes and it does the same on every one. It’s been cleaned, drained, unplugged etc., it then worked for one cycle, but has packed in again. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? Help appreciated as we’ve got a bit party on Saturday, and I just can’t wash up by hand!

Sounds a bit computerish……. You could try the reset procedure (‘Smeg AND reset’ or ‘Diplomat AND reset’ in Search usually finds it), but I doubt it will work.
Computer boards are very expensive – I would go down the route of professional repair to avoid any expensive mistakes.
