ParticipantHard to believe, but it heats on both temps, low and high (too approx 90 deg’s. empty) and cycles down to about 70deg’s, this is on the high setting. fans ok, filters clear, and condensor etc, clear. customer is putting clothes in, and not overloading for 90 mins +, and still not dry. Any ideas?, i’ve seen there is a different set of stats, to the ones i carry, and i dont know the temps on these ones. Could the cycle stat be weaker on temp’s?. therefore taking a long time to dry?. anybody had similar prob’s.

Participanthave to say, its usually the condenser
, have you physically checked it or has the customer just said they have?other than that, its gotta be the stat in the front duct.. cant be anything else

well i’m back. checked the front stat, its ok. shorted out wires to test. still the same. got one of these plug in adapters to test wattage of elements, both coming in when selected. 1/2 heat gives a reading of approx 1.4kw, full heat 2.6kw. stripped out ducting no blockages, good air flow. and the thing is still not drying the clothes, timer set in excess of 100mins. ps. the water pump is working ok aswell. changed rear stats, white spot new type.
any ideas. i’m beat.

Are clothes properly spun when taken from washing machine & is the dryer being overloaded?

thats ok, and not overloaded. the drum temp inside is very poor, especialy with the clothes in,(half the load i would normaly put in. i found the element cycles on/off quite quikly, thinking it must be air flow, but there is no blockages in the ducts, and the heater blower fan goes like the clappers, aswell as the condenser fan at the front.

Tell I would be checking wiring from float switch to see if that is cutting out,the other thing is timer is it cyling on the stat or cycling because the timer is knocking it off?
The other thing that springs to mind is has anyone else been at the appliance because i had an old creda doing the same thing and the recirculating fan had been fit the wrong way round. -
