ParticipantI have accumulated over the years a selection of boards from whirlpool american style fridge freezers.
But did not keep notes on what came from where. So if any whirlpool specialists fancy helping I need to know what comes from where and what ones would only work with newer style front panels.
numbers from boards
4619502 09764b dates 2204 and 2304
4619502 09766a dates 0406
4619502 48991b dates 2704 2504 3604
4619502 9762 dates 4402
4619502 09762 date ?
4651902 09763 “
Any help appreiciated

The numbers you have given are the factory codes from the boards, I have checked to see if any of these boards are programmable with the SAM module and none are so they are likely to be for the older style s/s
I recognise one though and that is the second board on your list which is part number 481221778213. This is a back board for the earlier s/s which have the lcd display.

Hi sorry but the 481221778213 board is for LED models. 481221778217 is for LCD display models. If all the boards you have look similar, they can only be for these models. However there has been a software change so some of your boards may not tally up with the newer models. The front display board communicates with the rear control board. I hope this helps. It sounds like you may have some swapping and changing to do. good luck Rob

Hi this is the problem, at some point whirlpool changed the rear board compatability with the front board.
The numbers are from the boards as you say John and 1 maybe 2 are from the lcd version.
As for looking similar the differances are mainly board colour and capacitor style ie old white ones that fail.

I would just fit them and wait. it only takes about 20 mins to do the defrost cycle and by then you would find out if CF (communication failure)happens. This only takes 10 mins max to find that out anyway. This also gives you enough time to test that the ice maker is working…hopefully. I love these fridges…easy peasy…good luck
