ParticipantThanks to your amazing response to the introduction of ISE 2 in terms of sales and a timely tip off by Nigel in Cornwall, I am delighted to inform you that due to our higher than expected volumes the producer has agreed to upgrade the facier and give us design exclusivity free of charge.
This will prevent other people copying the design (we have already had this with one wholesaler). And give the machine a classier look.
The next 2 containers are already on the water to keep up with demand the new design will be with us in early January. (picture will be available as so as we receive the new facier and Ken can photograph it.
Thanks for you support (volume talks)
If you what to see an ISE 2, contact me and I’ll bring out out for you to see.

Make the graphic bigger……. Little bit “cheap” as it stands. Mark the quadrants “Cotton”, “Easy Care” etc and I reckon we have a winner.

My thoughts entirely Chris. The new exclusive one is miles better IMHO.
kEN will post up an example as soon as he gets a spare minute.

ParticipantSpot on Chris,
Astetics are something we can get more into are primary focus has to be solid reliable machines.
But we move on, who knows what can be done with the 5 on that front next year.

Taking 30 to 45 minutes off the standard wash time would get my vote, by far the biggest number of complaints I get about the ISE5 is the wash time.

ParticipantHi Jim
That is on our agenda for the ISE 5 upgrade we are planning in the spring. We are going to try to minimise the wash times but the unfortunate fact is high energy efficiency means slow wash cycles.
We’ll keep you posted.

It’s a problem with them all Jim, we get it about the Siltals by CDA, Ardo’s through MFI, the Smeg ones… everything. Even Which? are whining at the program length on Miele, Siemens etc. now.
One good thing about the 10’s is that a cotton 40 will take about 1:15 to 1:35 which is a significant time saving, but you pay for it.
Usually though it’s a trade off between energy saving by extending the mechanical action and short washes aren’t the answer IMO.

I am well aware of the ‘reasons’ for extended wash times, I just think the ISE 5 times are very much on the high side in comparison to other machines.

Yeah, but it’s a trade-off Jim.
Okay, so the Swedes have been real clever, I have to hand that to them, but for the rest of us mere mortals…
The fact is that as you reduce the water etc. you gain wash time. The more you lower the wash time with the low water, the poorer the wash result. It really is a Catch 22 with a bucketload of factors in it. In essence from what I can see, if you drop the time as is the case on other machines then you also lose performance, but it goes faster.
I went through this with the spods at P&G a lot. 😕
I just wish I could figure out how the Swedes have done it and then I’d attempt to replicate. There’s this clever drum and paddle design though… 😉

I was pondering this time business……..
For future machines, why not have an “A” class wash as normal, with an option for a “B” class wash? We’ll sell shed loads once the word gets out.

It’s not the was results that’s the problem Chris, it’s the energy rating that is. 😉
But I know what you mean.
TBH dropping to B doesn’t make a whole hell of a lot of difference, even C isn’t enough of a leap to get back to the wash times we used to have. It improves, but not massively. But then, it’s the same thing with the spin one, you get a better rating for practically bugger all difference.
Guess that’s what happens when you let people from certain German manufacturers sit on the EU panel that made them up. 😉

Yerss…..
Then there was my student machine – stainless steel box with two red buttons on the front, one marked “Cottons” and one marked “Wool”. Mechanical timer, big basket filter and a drain tube. Landlords would kill for that machine!

I know what chris means. Miele do a special for the Mc Donalds chain with one button on ‘Start‘ and thats it ! They are not cheap though.
