ParticipantHi guys
I hope somebody can help quite quickly.I have a Bosch Integrated larder fridge KIR 26443 which was bought on 28/08/04.
My problem is that I have noticed that the top of the fridge is warm whilst the sides and bottom are cold. Sometimes the thermostat is heard to click, sometimes it doesn’t.
At the moment I have set the thermostat to 4 and it is clicking at 2.
There is also condensation forming underneath the glass shelves.I telephoned one of your approved repairers who will come out tomorrow. The over the phone diagnosis is that the gas is not circulating.
Now this fridge cost megagbucks in the region of £550. I understand that a gas problem is difficult and not effective repairwise. Also the fridge is only just over 3 years old.
I have already had one thermostat under the 2 year warranty. The man from Bosch said he had been out to quite a few of this type of problem with this fridge 😯 . Could it be the thermostat again? Should we try a new thermostat first in the hope that that will do the trick ? How much is a thermostat? His call out charge seems reasonable.
The fridge is situated next to the oven. Not ideal I know but that’s the layout we inherited when we moved in.
Any help before he comes tomorrow would be much appreciated. Forewarned is forarmed 😆
Some hours later……the temperature in the cabinet has dropped and the fridge seems to be cooling at the top now. Does this make any sense to you engineers?November 21, 2007 at 10:47 pm #234978superfix

Sounds to me as though the door is not closing the door s/w properly.
Quite common on integrated fridges, as “expert” kitchen fitters have a habit of not securing appliances properly in their housing. Consequently they gradually move backwards and eventually the the door seal does not make thus letting warm damp air in.
Hence you find condensation on shelves etc. Would also explain the warm top shelf as light also gives off heat if it’s not turned off by the s/w.

Well the engineer thinks that there is nothing wrong with the fridge. It may be over full 😯 .As we speak it seems to be OK. He didn’t think it was the thermostat or a door problem .He’ll give us a week and then bill us a modest call out charge.
