ModeratorNever seen one of these, customer just phoned, thinks it is either a PWM1012 or a BWM1012.
Said that machine tripped circuit breakers, she reset and tried the machine again. It worked fine but now she cannot get the door open.
Sounds like door lock has blown, is this a likely scenario and if so does anyone know the part number?
Jim.
EDIT. Just looking through parts list at Masterpart, could the model be an RWM 1012, she said the rating plate was a little obscure.

Thats the part number I spotted on the Masterpart site, just wondered if anyone had experienced this fault before I order one.

Jim that was a great machine, one of the last great Philco’s. Keep it on the road at all costs!
No electronics to blow, other than a motor speed module which never goes wrong. Would suggest its just a faulty door interlock but give the heater a megger check before fitting. also give the dispenser inlet pipes a poke as they may have leaked and run along the console panel and into the door lock.
Timer was the only issue on these, losing the final, 1000 rpm spin. Timer sadly obsolete and a lot of these have been scrapped for that reason. 😥
there are 2 versions BTW and the only way to tell is the presence of a quick wash at programme 5, (look on the programme guide on the dispenser) The one with the quick wash is version 2. Door locks the same on either: C00052845(BTW all these parts can be found on Partfinder)

Indeed 😕 Great machine though.
We sold hundred of them 🙂 It’s a RWM btw. If you struggle getting an interlock gimme a shout.

Ps. If the interlock fails it can refuse to unlock the door sometimes.
If this happens, a swift smack on the front panel where the lock is will release it 😀

Looking at the machine on Partfinder it looks just like the old Philco/Bendix from 25 to 30 years ago. This customer seems to think the machine is only 6 or 7 years old. 😕
Not actually been out to it yet but will let you know the outcome.
Jim.

It will be around 10 years old, and most of the ‘tex as’ interlocks will fix it 😉
