    Hi All,

My Smeg WDI12C is about 15 months old and will not drain waste water and end of cycle:

    – machine displays error code E06 aftre draining phase and before spin
    – water is not drained

    My first analysis I found:

    – the waste tubes are not blocked
    – the drain pump filter is free of blockage
    – waste water reaches the end of the external waste pipe

I removed the pump it works when tested with 240v applied directly so that is not the problem.

I have removed and checked pressure switch and diaphram is ok and I can blow through small tube and hear air in drum.

Does this sound like a control issue? Is there a method of resetting these machines?

    Any ideas?

Thanks for any help in advance.

    Chris

    More info on model:

    – Model WDI12C
    – Type 22052
    – S/N 60605 0424 0

Any other sensors, switches or tubes I should check before calling a Smeg engineer? I’m hoping this isn’t the PCB.

    Thanks, Chris

If the pump runs when powered directly, it has to be a switching problem, so that would suggest a problem with the computer.

    Just to follow this up…

It turned out to be the pump after all. I was told that when I tested the pump the motor may have given the appearance of turning but was actually moving quickly back and forth. Obviously proved this by safely checking 240v was getting to the pump.

Thanks to Penguin45 for the reply.

    Cheers, Chris
