ParticipantHi, I know this has nothing to do with whitegoods at all, but it is still electrical related never the less. I am going to buy my first shaver, and wonder if any of you guys know anything about them and to give me some advice please. I’ve seen a Braun 360 on the Boots website for a reasonable enough price. I apologise if its not related.
thanks

Your not old enough to shave yet Adam, just go out in a strong wind, it will blow your chin fluff back in. 😆
PS. I have used various Braun shavers for over 25 years now, very good . Better than Phillishave IMHO, can you still get Remington, had those for years before the Brauns.
Jim.
Seems you can still buy Remington, just seen them on the link Martin posted. now who was it who ‘bought the company’ 😉

Just remembered, it was Victor Kiam, who liked the Remington so much………
Not having any wrinkles 🙂 I can get in all the awkward places with my trusty Braun, floating head and extending side trimmer etc. 8)

Jim, I do need a shaver, believe me. I’m currently using a Philips, an old one of my dads. He has used Philips shavers ever since he started. But I’m not entirely struck on this one, it doesn’t seem to cut properly. I know Braun have been around for yonks and make very good hand blenders, but what are the shavers like, i think it was the 8985 i have seen, and it will have to be an investment, i will be using it for a long time.
Does the foil work better than the cutters, the cutters don’t seem to get all the stubble, unless they are blunt or its just me doing the whole thing wrong?

Only tried a Phillips once, useless, the Braun knocks spots off it. They do last a long time and fully recharge in about an hour.
It does pay to replace the cutter bars every couple of years though.

Hehe. Who is that, any of you guys? No, I shave because the hairs obviously look unsightly, and well they dont impress the lasses, nor would I look the part in my new job.

You can indeed still buy Remington Shavers. (Victor Kiam sadly no more but UK company is now owned by Spectrum Brands)
I know this because (time for a rant 👿 ) I had to buy my hubby one (F5 Titanium) because of ruddy Phillips. Yes you heard right, Phillips! The toads, have changed the design of their coolskin shavers range & so the new cool skin do-dah is not compatible with the old coolskin that used pouches. Our local Tesco has stopped selling the old pouches and only stocks the new one. Was I buffalo going to pay Phillips £90 for a new cool skin shaver for hubby. (not that i begrudge my hubby anything i hasten to add……) OK rant over!
So yes you can buy Remington! & the Remmy F5 is washable & for £30 is very reasonable IMO.Now as for Adam, well hon, be grateful you don’t have to shave your legs, because you won’t know pain like it, until you try an Epilady or a Braun Silk’O Pil. (Nasty Depilatory Gadgets….probably invented by a man that rips ones hairs out by the root ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH) & then there is the DREADED BIKINI LINE………. :eeek:
