ParticipantI’m having a bit of a panic.
We are fitting an Ikea kitchen ourselves (already done lots of it), and I have bought ‘built-in’ AEG oven and hob and microwave.
Now I’m panicking as I’ve realised that the oven etc are 592 wide, but the units we’ve got are the standard 600 wide.
Have I made a big blunder? Surely 600 wiide is standard? Won’t I have an unsightly gap?
I’m panicking as I already ballsed up by buying a microwave I thought had a grill and it doesn’t (model number was missing a crucial D), so will eed to send it back… 😕 – me trying to save money by buying stuff online….
I hope someone can help me

The body of the oven may only be 592mm wide but surely it has a front trim (frame) that is 600mm to be fastened by 4 screws to the 600mm oven carcase? 😕

Thanks
I’m going by the figures and diagram (showing the arrows pointing to the far dimensions of the front) on the specification page on AEG website. I guess perhaps I need to be brave and penetrate the packaging, but I was worried then I couldn’t send it back if it is not the right size…

Better keep it clean I suppose otherwise the mods will be on the warpath 😉
