ParticipantMy kitchen cabinet door has hinges fittted which aling to AEG 1051 lavamat, if i buy replacement Neff 5320 or electrolux 1440 wil the hinges move from my existing machine or will i have to drill new holes for the hinges to sink into in a different position on the door?
Also heard the 1440 has issues with counterbalance failures, what is this and is this considered a reliable machine

Not sure you’ll get an answer to that one unless any engineers on here have done exactly the same swap. 😕
IME most hinges do correspond between different makes of machine, but by no means all….in which case, yes you will need to drill new holes for the hinges i’m afraid.
IIRC Screwfix do a hinge cutter at a reasonable price, there are two common sizes so check first?

Thanks, and I did download the manuals and can confirm the electrolux is the same dimesions as AEG, anf the Neff is completely different.
Have decided to replaced with another AEG, like the price of electrolux but worried the spec and build quality may be weaker.

Lux and AEG are the same beasts – think this got mentioned in your previous thread? Therefore, it’ll have the same bos, so the door should just swap over. Neff is BSH Group (Seimens/Bosch/NEFF), so very unlikely it would be like for like.

Would I be right in thinking that outer door panels for integrated appliances are surface mounted? That as long as the panel has the correct dimensions it can be fitted to any appliance type? And that each appliance comes with fittings, templates and installation instructions?
