First and foremost. Thank you very much for a brilliant, infomative website/forum!

I was digging through all the information available to my problem, but would like to have confirmation/advice. Everything apart from the recirculation pump is working fine. All filters clean, nothing obstructing the pumps. Though the main recirculation motor is doing nothing but getting extremely hot and producing the well known humming/buzzing sound.

Am I wrong assuming it is the starting capacitor?

    Please advise, thanks

I doubt it? Probably as it is over 6 years old the motor bearings have seized? 🙁

Thanks for the quick response! The motor is heating up WITHOUT actually turning.

If I turn the rotor by hand I can’t feel any resistance. Bearings seem to be o.k.

You could always try replacing the Capacitor. Read the microfarad value when removed.
Power off if you are going to go in.

Thanks for that! I’ll try to replace the capacitor first before I replace the motor.
