lookin at the AEGL12510VI and the L14510VI is there any benefit between the two other than spin speed
Also the dryer versions can be had for very little money difference, if i go for the dryer version does this make the basic washer functions less reliable. i.e. more moving parts means that if the dryer parts fail the washer is also broke also or would it generally rever to being a basic washer.

A good article on them here which makes for interesting reading.

Thanks Don,
Decision made AEGL12510VI from John Lewis with 2 year warranty. last AEG lasted 8 years without incidence, whats your thought about £129 for 5 year cover? Does a machine of this build quality reduce the risk enough to go without extended warranty given the cost of insurance .

I would take a look here first at UKW appliance cover . Plus you know you are going to get an independant engineer who will be more like a friend to you rather than a number.

Don, is this machine actually a Zanussi under the skin or is there still some German production left?

It’s a Zanussi of course and the original AEG/Telefunken factory in Germany still produces the plastic mouldings as far as I recall. The units are fully assembled in Poland these days. 😉

are you suggesting this is a bad choice of machine for £500, is there evidence to suggest AEG reliability is no longer a testiment to its name and more money needs to be spent to buy a reliable machine that will perform for min 5 years

I always thought that the built in appliances were still German produced 😕
Going back to Daveeys original question of which integrated machine should he buy http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … highlight= I had to assume that the decision on brand had been made 😉
