ParticipantHi all
I have a 6 year old Neff K9625 integrated Fridge Freezer (70/30 split). I called out one of the local engineers from the link on this site who tells me that the compressor is jammed. It tries to kick in but cuts out after trying for about 10 seconds. He reckons I would be best to buy a new appliance as the cost of replacing the compressor + gas + labour is going to be close to £300.
Does any body know anywhere that i might be able to pick up a second hand K9625 or K8525 (same dimensions) ?
These models are no longer made and the replacement models are shorter, and i’m not sure how that is going to work with regards to fitting the existing doors, etc.Any help appreciated.
thanks

ParticipantTo be honest sounds as he is quoting an over the top price.
Rough estimate would be about £200 using a decent compressor.
But if you can get one to fit in the cabinet the option is either adapt a new unit for the whole or have it repaired.December 18, 2007 at 12:19 pm #237273bluemark

He had looked at the Neff website and said they were quoting £195 for a new compressor for this model. He quoted £55 for re-gassing and about £50 labour on top of that.
Is it possible to get the compressor cheaper than that?

It was me that asked you the for the model number and told you where to find it 😉
I used to live in WP myself, but am still close enough to pick your one up, though i will need to hire a van. I’ll see how the bidding goes over the next couple of days and, if it’s viable, will make a bid.
many thanks
