Our Zanussi FJ1295 sometimes stops during it’s cycle, I’d thought the problem was an intermittent mains switch – but the problem is still there after changing the switch 🙁

FWIW SWMBO thinks it usually freezes between the C and D points on the cycle (this MAY be where extra water is added) and that if the timer is turned one click forward it then completes OK. My guess (based on nothing but intuition) is a dodgy water pressure switch but without any diagrams I’m in the dark.

Are there any wiring, flow or logic diagram anywhere on the web?
Or is anyone old and wise enough to divine what the fault is?

    Is the water heating?

    This may be really embarrassing!
I was just starting to investigate whether the water was heating when I noticed that it seemed to be filling/pumping at a strange point in the cycle. A light came on dimly in the back of my head – is it possible to get the indicator dial 180 degrees out when refitting the front panel? If so this might explain the apparent strange behaviour – maybe I half turned it while replacing the on/off switch.

The locating slots on the indicator should prevent you from getting the knob on incorrectly. However, you can miss the slots altogether, and the knob will be nearly 180 degrees out.

Check what Macmini said – is it heating?

Well, it looks like I’ve been a prat 😳
It’s heating fine, and now that I’ve turned the indicator dial through 180 degrees it seems to be working properly.

So, it IS possible to get the dial 180 degrees out!

    Thanks for trying to help.

You probably need 1246079-01/4 – a red plastic ring which locates the knob onto the cam. The outer cap can be removed by turning anti-clockwise, a 7mm nut can then be undone and the knob removed to see what is happening.

spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will supply a new ring if required.

    Re: Zanussi FJ1295 “stopping”

No, it’s fine thanks. I removed the knob and front panel, turned the indicator dial through 180 and put it all back together – no replacements needed. I must have fiddled with it when I originally replaced the mains switch and just got it wrong when I put the panel on again.

Now to get the jetwash working.
