    My trusty old Hoover A8534-001 Washer Dryer drum bearing seems to have gone to the great scrapyard in the sky.

    It’s been noisy for a little while but is now making a terrible racket and the drum can easily be moved about from the front.

    Is changing the bearing a ‘simple’ job e.g. from the back, or is it a case of taking the drum out?

    fairly easy job
    electric off
    back panel off
    about 12 10mm nuts and bolts around backplate then drum pulls out
    do this before getting bearings + tub seal to check drum
    if thats broken use the link and buy an ISE washer
    as drum v.expensive

    That sounds doable to me.

    Would I need any ‘special’ tools for the job?

    philips screwdriver
    flat screwdriver
    10mm socket
    10mm spanner
    14mm spanner
    hammer and drift

    and thats about it
