ParticipantHi Guys
Hope you can help with this one. I only went out to fit new brushes.
But when I tested it,it is over filling and going into flood protection.I have tried new presssure switch and module, I have checked the valves and pressure hose. Please help I want to finish for christmas.December 20, 2007 at 9:00 pm #237658hotpnt

if its going into overflow then it must be getting pressure from the sump up the hose, so you can rule that out, i would go back to when you changed the brushes, something in the wiring must have got disturbed somewhere?

have you tried a gentle blow into the p/sw to see if it will cut off at normal level? its an odd fault for a WMA machine, especially if you have changed the p/sw, excuse me if this sounds a silly question, but how did you get the motor out to do the brushes, was it through the bottom or did you take the front panel off?, just wondering if you may have a plug back on wrong on the module?

I took the motor out through the bottom, although I did tip the machine onto it’s side. it seems like it is not clicking off at the first level and just filling to far till it reaches flood protection. I am going back this morning to clean the sump in case it as slight blockage and the air is rushing into the pressure switch all of a sudden and activating flood protection.

might be a long shot but check the polarity. i once had one do a similar thing, it filled past normal point then went dead. the wires were incorrect in mains plug.

It still as the moulded plug on.I spent another couple hours on it again today. I tried cleaning the sump out and tried a new pump. When it fills you can hear the pressure switch click but it just carries on filling into flood protection. I have checked the cables from the pressure switch. The only thing I have noticed is when you set a wash program, the wash light and the rinse and spin lights are lit as well. I think I will give up on this one.

it does seem odd that this only started after the brushes were changed, no earth faults?,
