Symptoms:
Loads water and cycles – programmer doesnt move.
On moving the programmer, the cycle continues.
Water is cold.
Heater element showed 23 ohms so replaced the 50/65 degree thermostat without thinking.
Other thermostat (dual ganged) across the heater element is ok.
Live – from the programmer – feeds the element.
traced the (neutral) common yellow wiring run back to the programmer.
Yellow wiring run shows 85 ohms to neutral – so problem is in between programmer and neutral.
Programmer is a “black box switch” with no info.Question is –
Is there a switch/sensor feeding neutral into the programmer
otherwise – at £120 for a new programmer – a new machine is needed.TIA

Ie, both pairs of contacts are normally closed when split from the circuit?
As this is a public forum I am obliged to say we do not recommend live testing under any circumstances.
There are two different timers for this appliance BTW, so serial number would be required for correct identification.
