ParticipantI have the above fridge freezer, the freezer seems fine firstly
but the fridge has a control dial with 1-7 if I have it on 6 it chills
no cooler than 10c, but if I set to 7 it drops to about -5c
and freezes the milk etc, I don’t seem to have any adjust-ability
anymore it seems to be all or nothingDo you think that would be a fault thermostat or something
else?Oliver.

Participantif its working at all, the thermostats not faulty, and the only thing left on that is the compressor.. give it a few weeks, and itll stop working altogether
get shut and buy a different one

ParticipantSo is it not possible then that the thermostat
thinks the fridge is cooler than it is hence not
turning on the compressor enough??Just I thought the compressor would be ok
as it will chill the fridge well below zero but
only if its on 7, but then 6 seems to warmI don’t know if it’s relevant but I just took a
reading of the freezer its about -28cDecember 23, 2007 at 9:59 pm #237820helo_75
Participanthmm, u could be right
is it indoors?
ive seen a lot of those fridge freezers, and the stats not usually the problem, but yours could well be the stat
sorry, your second post was a bit more precise, so yes, the stat could well be faulty, but i think you might need a genuine stat

ParticipantThanks for the help Helo_75, yeah it’s kept inside
Its already on number 2 compressor as the first one failed about 10 months into ownership, it just
packed up one day and turned into a mini ovenI did have a look around the net for a original
thermostat but couldn’t find one, one place that
listed it said it was discontinuedGuess I am abit stuck then.

Participantcomet have them, but im sure if you ask one of the guys on here, there MAY be a suitable alternative available form the ukwhitegoods store, after all, it is only a wetwall fridge, and a danfoss kit 3 should cover it, i think its the length of the capilliary which is the issue, and obviously you cant cut it down
whouldnt hope for one before xmas though
have a great xmas, apart from warm beer

ParticipantWell looks like I might have to scarp it, Comet say part not available
plus after having a good look at the thermostat housing it appears a big job of getting the new capillary installed as the back of the fridge appears foam sealed, might give the calibration screw a tweak clockwise to see if I can lower the working temp range, but not holding out much hope
